Types of pipe fittings and their uses

Pipe fittings play a vital role in the industry. You might have seen many different pipelines for residential and commercial buildings. Have you thought about why this variation in pipelines occurs? Over the years, there have been numerous kinds of pipe fittings developed and designed to solve specific requirements. The pipe is made of copper, steel, PVC, brass, etc. CPVC PIPES AND FITTINGS are produced from a specialty combination of Chlorinated Poly Vinyle Chloride (CPVC) material. Here are some types of pipe fittings and their uses:

Types of pipe fittings and their purposes:

Pipe fittings are connected to the end of pipes that allow them to change direction, control the flow, and modify the diameter of the pipe. CPVC PIPES AND FITTINGS are the most viable option for hot and cold water distribution systems. Now let’s get into the types of pipe fittings.

Elbow type:

  •  They are widely available in two standard types: 90 and 45-degree angles due to their high demand for plumbing. The 90-degree elbow pipe connects pipes to water pump valves and bridge drains.

  • While the 40-degree elbow is mainly used in water supply systems, electronic and chemical industrial line networks, food, air conditioning pipelined, garden production, solar energy supply, and agriculture. The usage ensures that the pipe reaches any place in the unit without inconvenience.

Cross-type:

  • A cross-type fitting consists of four openings, each located in various directions. It has three inlets and one outlet or vice versa. Most commonly, cross-fitting type openings are equal in diameter. It is used in the sprinkler system and ensures the smooth distribution of fluids.

Tee type:

  • It is t in shape and has both inlets and outlets. Unlike cross types, it has only three openings. CPVC PIPES AND FITTINGS are fit for various applications like agriculture systems, industrial process lines, irrigation systems, etc. It forms an integral part of the piping industry.

Coupling and adapter type:

  • Coupling is used to reduce flow by joining the larger pipe to a smaller size. With the same diameter on both sides, it is of two different types: slip and compression coupling. If you notice leakage in pipes, the coupling can be used to address this issue.

  • Two pipes of different types can be connected using adapters. An adapter changes the end of a non-threaded pipe to male or female threads. They are commonly used in PVC and copper pipes.

Final thoughts:

The different types of pipe fittings made the job easy for pipe fitters and plumbers. Fittings come in many shapes, colors, and sizes. CPVC PIPES AND FITTINGS are self-extinguishing, have no bacterial growth compared to other piping material, and resist UV. These are some types of pipe fittings and their uses.
